Clauss Rodeon VR head ST
Clauss Rodeon VR head ST
The Clauss Rodeon VR head ST is an automatic pan and tilt head with increased strength, resolution and rigidity for cylindrical and spherical 180°x 360° panorama shots in a high-resolution multi-row sequence with
Bluetooth Class 1 and RS-232 interface. Compared to the VR Head CL, the vertical drive is stronger, and the horizontal drive is equipped with an additional electromagnetic brake.
The RODEON VR Head ST is especially designed for long focal length teleoptics (>300mm). The extra strong and high-resolution vertical drive provides sufficient power to ift this load. An additional magnetic brake on the horizontal drive increases the rigidity of the total mechanical system in every position.
I bought the Clauss Rodeon VR head ST via ebay in 2017. The system is a high quality and professional system. Unfortunately, it was the "old" version without Wi-Fi. Communication was therefore only possible via RS-232 and the use of a laptop was mandatory. This severely restricts mobile use, especially on backpacking trips.

I then replaced the system with the Clauss RODEON piXplorer panorama head.

Usually I'm not using the Clauss software to stich the images together. I use Papywizard to create a corresponding xml file and then use AutoPano Giga to combine the pictures into a panorama.
